The Gothic Moon Studio

At Gothic Moon we have designed and built more than 150 sets for TV and film and about six years ago we got tired of driving up to stages in LA to install our sets.  So, we decided to create our own stage. Like we said - we can create anything.

The Gothic Moon Studio is now the largest commercial stage in Orange County. Period.  Some may claim to have the best stage "hands down", but we know that once you shoot on our stage you will see that we have more to offer than anyone else.  And that is a fact - not marketing hype. Skeptical? Come see for yourself.

Below is partial listing of what our stage is like and what sets it apart:

The typical stuff:

• The stage is just over 6400 square feet
• The lighting grid is at 17'
• We have 1200 amps of house power
• We have 40 tons of air conditioning 
• We have over 1800 square feet of production space that comes at no extra charge with the stage
• We have a full kitchen
• We have seperate wardrobe and makeup rooms
• We have a 2-walled cyc that is 25' x 37' and 13' high  

• We have a truck-height loading dock which saves time on load-in and strike.
• We have a 12,000 square foot shop right next to the stage that allows us to make changes on-site quickly even while shooting is in progress.
• We have 12,000 square feet of thousands of props and set dressing items that can be rented when things change at the last minute.
• We literally have tons and tons of stock scenery items such as walls, columns, fireplaces, windows, doors, stair units, etc. which allows us to create large sets at a much lower cost point than anyone else.
• We are not an exclusive stage. Which means if you are a DP and have your own equipment and want to use it on a shoot on our stage we encourage it. Unlike most LA stages and some Orange County stages which do have an exclusive use agreement.
• If our stage is larger than you need, we also have a half stage rate so you're not paying for what you don't need.

The bottom line

Okay, here it is.  There is no other place in Orange County or the surrounding area that has the resources we have at Gothic Moon. Our studio is the largest, our shop is the largest, and we have the largest prop and stock scenery rental house in Orange County.  Plus, it is the only combination of all of those items within a large radius in Southern California.

What does this mean for you and your production?  It means that when things change (and you know they always do) and you need a shoot-off wall, a new couch, or you need a whole new set rebuilt or repainted, it will happen faster and easier at Gothic Moon.  You never have enough time or money on a shoot so we think it is a huge advantage to know that you have more options when you shoot on our stage than anywhere else.

And that's the truth. Period.
